Information Collected as Part of the Application Process 

To be considered for scholarship, tuition assistance or other award programs (“Programs”) administered through this Site and to use related Services, you must complete an online application and provide certain information. This may include: 

  • Full name 
  • Address 
  • Email address 
  • Phone number 
  • School and grade level 
  • Parent/guardian name(s), phone number(s), and email address(es) 
  • Social security number and tax information (if required) 
  • Date of birth, gender, personal interests, academic performance, extracurricular activities, or personal essays 

Information is collected when you complete and submit the application or if data is saved automatically during the application process. Even if you abandon the application, the information entered may still be collected and subject to this policy. 

We use your Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) to: 

  • Respond to inquiries 
  • Contact you regarding your application 
  • Notify you of updates or changes to your account or application status 
  • Administer Programs and Services 
  • Send service-related announcements 

We may also use your PII to send informational newsletters or promotional materials. If you prefer not to receive these materials, you may opt out (see Section 3). 

Information Collected as Part of the Sales Process 

In consideration of ISTS for administrative services or business partnerships, you may complete an online form and provide certain information. This may include: 

  • Full name 
  • Email address 
  • Phone number 
  • Job title 
  • Organization/company name 

Information is collected when you send a message, submit a request, download a file or subscribe to communications. 

We use your Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) to: 

  • Respond to sales inquiries 
  • Contact you regarding your quote, proposal or contract 
  • Send company and promotional announcements 

Other Information Collected Through Technology 

We use technology to make our site more effective and engaging. Information collected through technology, which is not linked to PII unless otherwise noted, includes: 

Log Files  

We collect internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser types, Internet Service Provider (ISP) information, referring/exit pages, operating system details, date/time stamps, and clickstream data. This information helps us analyze trends, administer the Site, and understand user behavior.

Clear Gifs (Web Beacons/Web Bugs)  

Certain sponsors may use clear gifs on scholarship application pages to track user activity. We also use clear gifs in our emails to gauge the effectiveness of communications. These technologies do not directly link to PII.

2. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

Aggregate Information 

We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information with our partners for analytical purposes. This information does not identify individual users. 

Personally Identifiable Information 

Program Sponsors 

By submitting an application, you agree that ISTS may share your information with the sponsors of the specific Program. ISTS is not responsible for how sponsors use or secure your information once disclosed. 

Service Providers 

We may use third-party providers to perform services on our behalf. These providers are only permitted to use your PII to provide those services. 

Third-Party Advertisers 

We may share your PII with third-party advertisers (excluding social security and tax information). You can opt out of such sharing (see Section 3). ISTS is not responsible for third-party use of your information after disclosure. 

Legal Requests 

We may disclose your PII in response to lawful requests by public authorities or to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. 

Disclaimer 

While we implement safeguards to protect your data, we cannot guarantee that your information will never be disclosed unintentionally due to unauthorized access, misuse, or other unforeseen circumstances.

3. Choice/Opt-Out

To opt out of receiving newsletters, promotional materials, or having your PII shared with third-party advertisers, follow the instructions in the materials or contact us directly at ContactUs@applyISTS.com. It may take up to 30 days for your opt-out choices to take effect.

4. Privacy Protection for Children Under 13

We do not collect PII directly from children under 13. If a child is eligible for a Program, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and their contact information. 5. Links to Other Sites

This privacy policy applies only to ISTS’ Site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites linked from our Site. Please review the privacy policies of those websites before providing any personal information.

6. Access and Changes to Personal Information

To update or delete your information, use the “My Profile” tab on your home page or contact us directly. Deletion requests must include identifying details such as full name, address, and username. If you have not received an award, we will delete your information upon request.

8. Business Transitions

In the event of a merger, acquisition or sale, your PII may be transferred as part of the assets involved.
